We are looking for a PHP Developer to join the Si digital team working on a variety of projects, with a great team and a hybrid work setting.

Established in 2001, Si digital has worked with big names across the world (Hasbro, Amcor, Wightlink, Co-op – and some we can’t name). We design and build websites, e-commerce platforms, back office systems and mobile apps as well as our own internal hack projects. We maintain long lasting relationships with our customers and only work with people that share our core values.

We are looking for developers that are experienced in, and excited about creating modern object-oriented PHP.

You’ll be joining a growing team of developers who enjoy collaborating and helping each other out. You will also be working with some of our amazing customers.

We have a lovely office in Southsea (Portsmouth) which the team use when they want, and for our monthly team get together. But if you’re happier working from home, that’s just fine with us (you will just need to come into the office one day a month).

You may not have all the experience in the world just yet, but that’s fine, we’re happy to help train and develop you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with a small development team, to create new digital products for a range of interesting customer
  • Integrating web solutions with client-provided APIs
  • Triaging helpdesk tickets and helping clients with issues or requests for work
  • Work on in-house hack projects, which will define the company direction

Desired skills:

  • You feel at home in modern PHP 7 or 8
  • Knowledge of using object-oriented principles to solve problems
  • You have experience using JSON based RESTful APIs
  • You have a solid understanding of using Composer
  • Experience using Docker

Beneficial skills:

  • You have experience with at least one PHP MVC framework, we use Zend Framework / Laminas
  • You have an interest in Sysadmin and DevOps. We use AWS along with Kubernetes, and are always on the lookout to help us manage and improve our infrastructure
