The Problem

Ship Finder had built up a massive following of enthusiasts who wanted to track the movement and status of ships around the world. However, they needed some extra support when it came to developing a website to provide this level of tracking and functionality.

The Solution

We used data served by an API to plot the location of all ships, boats, lighthouses and other vessels globally. As well as showing current location of the ship we also provided a way to replay the movements of ships too.

Grouping the ships when you zoom in and out on the map provided a complex technical and UX challenge. We balanced this beautifully, showing enough detail without being overly cluttered.
