Tracking the
global movement
of ships

The Problem
One of our clients wanted an innovative way people could quickly and easily track ships around the globe. It needed to be a simple to use, map-based interface that anyone could use.
The Solution
We built a full-functional global map that tracks the locations of ships worldwide. We utilised data from an API to create a global map displaying the locations of all ships, boats, lighthouses, and other vessels. In addition to showing the current position of a ship, we also provided an option to replay its movements.
Grouping the ships when zooming in and out on the map posed a complex technical and user experience challenge. We successfully addressed this challenge by striking a balance between providing sufficient detail and avoiding excessive clutter.

The Result
Ship Finder has built a wonderful community of enthusiasts who love keeping an eye on the movement and status of ships all around the world. To enhance their website with even more advanced tracking and functionality, they are looking for some extra support.
You can try Ship Finder for yourself here.
