React Native Developer - Mid Weight

About the role
We’ve built mobile apps for a number of clients (and some for ourselves as hack projectS). Due to the successes we’ve had with apps we’ve built for clients like major car manufacturers, we are taking on more mobile app development projects - especially in the connected car / vehicle tracking sector.
Longer term, we plan to diversify in to other sectors too and we want to take you on our journey.
You will have at least a couple of years experience in building native apps, using React Native for iOS and Android, and ideally some experience with JSON APIs. You’ll be keen to learn and willing to help out with the rest of the team where you can.

Established in 2001, Si digital has worked with big names across the world (Hasbro, Amcor, Wightlink, Co-op – and some we can’t name). We design and build websites, e-commerce platforms, back office systems and mobile apps as well as our own internal hack projects. We maintain long lasting relationships with our customers and only work with people that share our core values.

We have a lovely office in Southsea (Portsmouth) which the team use when they want, and for our monthly team get together and a fairly regular LAN party if that’s your thing. Although we offer a hybrid approach to work, we are favouring those candidates who prefer to be in the office more regularly.
You may not have all the experience in the world just yet, but that’s fine, we’re happy to help train and develop you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a small development team, to create new digital products for a range of interesting customers
- Working on an existing React Native app for a global telematics client
- Integrating web solutions with client-provided APIs
- Triaging helpdesk tickets and helping clients with issues or requests for work
- Work on in-house hack projects, which will define the company direction
Desired Skills:
- Good experience with React 2+ years
- Experience working in React Native for iOS and Android, but we will give you personal development time if not
- Experience using JSON based APIs (RESTful, JWTs etc)
- Experience in Next.JS and similar frameworks
